As appetizing as that title sounds its certainly true. I flex my carnivore privileges more than anyone I know. I cook with minimal ingredients, zero sauces or additives and because my diet is so low in sodium, sugar and fat, my cholesterol or blood pressure is never an issue. But I digress…
With the plethora or gourmet burger joints springing up all across the country I had stumbled upon this little gem when I had a NY Post article that ran through the Top 10 gluten free places in NYC. One of which was Bare Burger: http://www.bareburger.com/ A delicious, organic burger joint that made you feel that you were world-traveling hunter eating the likes of wild boar, ostrich, elk, bison and apparently the mainstream grass-fed beef.
These have popped up all over NYC; Manhattan, Queens and BK. I’ve been to everyone in Manhattan and every time its an amazing experience.
I usually order a double burger (elk and bison/medium rare), tapioca rice bun (which is GF), lettuce and avocado. I can even enjoy the fries here since they have dedicated fryers and you can ask the wait staff to fry the fries in the GF fryers (canola oil used)
It ends up being about a $18-20 dollar burger (only bc of the double meat) when its all said and done but its rare for me to leave a place pleasantly full and satisfied so I will promote the crap out of this place anytime I can. As I write this submission I’ve actually been there 6 times in the last 2.5 weeks.
Highly recommended/Quick GF solution in NYC/Have never felt sick or poisoned after consuming.
get some!!
