With the recommendation of Find Me Gluten Free (http://www.findmeglutenfree.com/) I tried Friedman’s on 31st btw 6th and 7th Ave in NYC. My entire experience was stellar. The place was recently opened as Friedman’s already has a well-established lunch-based place in Chelsea. The decor was simple but rustic, high ceilings and a comfortable atmosphere.
Food was even better. Got the herbed fries which were delicious, friend got the tomato soup for an app and said it was great. I added chicken to the GF buccatelli with mushrooms dish and it was amazing. Sauce was creamy, phenomenal and shockingly didn’t bother me one bit. Friend got the special of the day, which was Pot Pie and enjoyed it as well.
Great wine list and I had a GF Belgium beer called Brunehaut, Amber Ale that I never had before and it was delicious. No red face, no stomach ache. I had a second just because.
Even the espresso was delicious. I caught myself borderline licking the cup. Needless to say I will be back for sure. Left with such a smile on my face, even went home and worked out after such a heavy meal.
